Wood-fired kiln and glaze research on show in a French pottery village
Audrey Ballacchino, Stéphanie Bertholon and Xavier Duroselle exhibit at Galerie Terra Viva in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. Duroselle built a wood-fired kiln and moved to fully hand-built forms; Bertholon began testing wood firing on her glazes, which gave her a delicate matt finish and soft patina.
Why it matters: Shows how wood firing turns glazes matt and patinated, a useful reference before you plan test tiles for celadon, copper red or wood-kiln work.
